// Audience statistics (Plausible)
We measure aggregate traffic with Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Tartu, Estonia). Data is processed and stored in the EU, on servers in Germany. It records page views, referrers and coarse device and country information, to learn which pages are read.
- No cookies are set, and no persistent identifier is created or stored on your device.
- Your IP address is hashed together with your user agent and a salt that rotates every day, and is not retained. Visits cannot be linked across days or to a person.
- The script reads one
localStoragekey,plausible_ignore, which you may set yourself to opt out. It never writes to your device. - Nothing is shared with advertisers, and there is no cross-site tracking.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used
(GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). To opt out, run
localStorage.plausible_ignore = "true" in your browser console.
// Hosting (GitHub Pages)
The site is served by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., United States). GitHub processes technical request data, such as your IP address and user agent, in its server logs in order to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not have access to those logs. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for retention and international-transfer details.
// Third parties
Fonts and all other assets are served from this site. Apart from Plausible, your browser makes no requests to third-party services when it loads a page. Links to GitHub and other sites are ordinary links; their own policies apply once you follow them.
// Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies, the GDPR, you may request access to, correction or deletion of personal data about you, and object to its processing. Write to privacy@steerspec.dev. Audience statistics hold no data that identifies you. The only personal data we hold is what you send us when you write: your email address and message, used solely to answer you and kept only as long as needed for that. You may also complain to the Swiss FDPIC or to your local supervisory authority.
